Eat in Cozumel
Dining we personally recommendThere are so many restaurants to try on Cozumel that it’s hard to choose. Living on the island, we’ve taken our time taste and service testing as we go. Whenever we find a stand out, we’ll highlight them here. Check back often for updates.
We are always available to answer questions, or offer suggestions on restaurants and bars. Chances are, we’ve been there.

New Especias Italian Restaurant, simply put, is WONDERFUL!!

What more is there to say?

Mr. Taco – Another favorite on Facebook! Reviews are 4.8 out of 5.
Two blocks away and full of locals. The owners put pork (pastor) on the spit and let it cook all day. The tacos are fresh, fabulous and cheap. But hurry!! When they sell out of pastor, they close down for the night! 😱
Casa Mission is next door to Baldwin’s Guest House and absolutely beautiful, great food set in a family hacienda. And the family still lives there and works there! They serve breakfast for $5, lunch for $5.50, and dinner is variable depending on what you want.
Azul Madera – The chef at Azul Madera creates his own dishes. They range from unique seafood plates to steak, chicken, pork and even have their own pizza oven. They also make the most delicious cocktails. If you have a special occasion, or just want a fabulous meal, this is it! It is my favorite restaurant on the island.

Coconuts Bar and Grill on the East Side (called “otro lado” or “the other side”).

El Sazón del Camerón Taqueria
My favorite for Shrimp Tacos! Right up the street. Camarones Empanizados (Breaded) Shrimp Tacos! Can’t beat these and the sauces are amazing! You can also get them grilled as well as other fillings – pulpo (octopus) and pollo (chicken). I paid equivalent of $5 USD for this great lunch that lasts the entire day.

La Cocay – Great food all around and Steak Night on Fridays!
Pescaderia San Carlos – This restaurant is rated as one of the best restaurants (if not the best) for fresh fish on the island. I have sent many people there but only got there myself recently…they have THE BEST ceviche I have had in my life. Less than TWO blocks from us!
Burritos Gorditos – I finally had a chance to eat breakfast here! These are the best burritos I’ve ever had. Lightly fried, thin tortilla but thick enough to hold eggs, bacon, avocado, and tomatoes. I bought the “small” size; it was enough for two meals!

The 10 ExperiencesTour – This is really a gastronomic tour through 10 regions of Mexico. 10 courses paired with a cocktail, wine or beer paired with the flavor of the food.
